Mais, il y a bien trois calendriers utilisés en Iran, et ils cohabitent parfaitement : le grégorien, le musulman et le persan. Le calendrier musulman se trouve plutôt pour les dates de fêtes religieuses, pour tout ce qui concerne les choses religieuses, alors que le calendrier persan est celui qui est utilisé par tous, chaque jour. La fête de NoRuz (qui n'est d'ailleurs pas une fête religieuse) la fête du Printemps, démarre l'année persane, le 21 mars de chaque année. Le calendrier grégorien, lui, est utilisé par les iraniens qui fréquentent des Occidentaux, comme les agences de voyages, les milieux d'affaires.
